Database". Perhaps it has a more specific name that someone here might
recognize, and then actually might be able to offer a suggestion.
Access has the best connectivity features I have found in any database, so
there's a good chance you might be able to Link or Import. If not, many
databases can export to other database format files (dBase's .DBF is a
common one) which Access may be able to import.

the database in the subject line. I thought it would attract the people who
might be familiar with the name.
It's called "contact partner" and it was produced by FDP Corp. The
extension I see is mdb.

It would appear that FDP Corp are now SunGard Insurance Systems, and,
according to their web site, 'Contact Partner' is still supported.
