Auto number - number of digits

I've been reading all the posts regarding autonumber and perhaps I'm just
missing it, but I'm looking to have my autonumber field be four digits. Then

I will have the numbers generated randomly. The numbers themselves aren't
important, but one of my major fields is a three digit number and it can get

confusing when the autonumber is the same number of digits.

Is it possible to set the number of digits?

nope, but the autonumber shouldn't be visible to the user anyhow
I usually put it in the page header of the form & serts it's visible
property to false

nope, but the autonumber shouldn't be visible to the user anyhow

Okay, that's fine. You're right that I don't show the autonumber to my
users, so it's not a big deal. Mostly just confuses me when I'm entering
data, but I'll fix that up with some formatting options.
