I have a new database created and want to import an older Access database
into it. I have tried to import and export and neither works. I have
checked the titles of fields and changed to reflect what is in the new
database but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions.

Please explain "doesn't work". Do you get an error message? In
incorrect import? Import tables but no records in those tables? What

Give us a bit of help here...

Re: Access database

By not working I mean, I go to File and got to import and select the old
database and it doesn't do anything. I does not bring the information from
the old database into the new one. I go to the old database and got to File
and select Export and I get nothing. I do not know version the new database
was created in since I was not the person that created it and I have ask the

person that created it and he doesn't know either. The old Access database
was created several years ago, probable 3 or 4 years, and has been converted
to different versions of Access since it was created.
I have changed the names on the old database to reflect what is on the new
one and still nothing. There is something I am missing but I cannot figure
out what.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It sounds like you're trying to import "the database". It doesn't work
that way! A database is a CONTAINER for multiple objects. File...

Import opens up a dialog which allows you to select *which* objects
(tables, forms, queries, etc.) you want to import - it doesn't import
anything until you do so.

You can tell which version of Access you're using by selecting Help...
About on the menu. It might help us if you would do so on both
databases, the one you're importing from and importing to.
