I have a document that I open daily and I have to go in and manually change

the date. I need to know if there is a way that this could be done on the
computer so that daily when the document is opened the date is current?

I am not sure if you are talking about access, but you can normally set the
default to date by going to the default property for the field and put in
date (or date() )

A document is a Word object.

You have posted this message to the wrong newsgroup.
The access in this groups name refers to Microsoft Access, a database
program.
Please repost to the correct newsgroup for whatever Office program you
are using. I would suggest you include your Windows and Office version
number in the message.

Assuming you mean in a Word document you would delete that text and
leave the curser there. Then select "Insert" from the top line menu, then
date, then choose the format you want and then click the box that asks if

you want to automatically update it, or not depending on your need. Try it

out both ways and you will see the difference when you take a look at it the
next day and by looking at documents you created the day before.
