Isn't that what the lawyer gets paid to do?

You have posted this message to the wrong newsgroup.
The access in this groups name refers to Microsoft Access, a database
program.

I'm afraid you've posted in the wrong group. This forum is for
discussion of Microsoft Access, the database program, not a general

"public access" discusssion forum as its name may have misled you into
thinking. I don't believe any of the Microsoft discussion groups is
suitable for your question, as they are technical groups dealing with
various MS products. You may want to use something like Google Groups
(http://groups.google.com) to look for a non-Microsoft group that deals
with legal matters like yours.

RE: divorce, how to split assets by legal document

Speaking from experience . . . no matter how much documentation you have or
forward to your lawyer the assets will continue to reside where they always
have, Whatever is her's is Her's and whatever is your's is Her's.

On a serious side almost every State in the USA has their own set of forms
for this.

You may enter into what is called a "marital settlement agreement.' the marital settlement agreement is not the same as spousal support or child custody, this is a settlement that divides the properties and debts. You have to decide clearly on how property will be divided to avoid further disputes in court.

When you and your ex have reached a marital settlement agreement, you can take the agreement to court, where a judge usually will approve the agreement after a short hearing.
