How do I make a correction without it replacing the next letter?

When I make a correction, such as adding a letter or a phrase in the middle
of a sentence, it deletes the next letters. What do I need to do just to make
a simple correction without it effecting the rest of the phrase?

Turn off the Insert key (above the number pad).

Your question may be better answered in a newsgroup appropriate to your
