help! query for unique and highest value

Help! I have a spreadsheet with 2 columns:
(1) # (representing/identifying individual people) and
(2) # (representing sales)

I need to query to show only the highest sale for each person.

I know there has to be an easy way to do this.

(If I filter in Excel for unique, I will still get every row).
(Not sure how to use the topvalues and uniquevalues properties).
