hi,

I have a file which I am working on for the past few weeks. I never have a
problem opening it, but today it doesn't open I get the following error:
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/information-technology/11029-problem-with-opening-an-access-file.html

Cannot find file 'C:/Documents and Settings...' Make sure the path and
filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=11029

how can I fix this and get into my file???

RE: problem with opening an access file

Have you gone into Windows Explorer and searched for the file? Is it where it
belongs?

Can you open up Access by itself? It's probably at the Start button,
Programs, Microsoft Office Access or something like that.

RE: problem with opening an access file

The file is where it belongs. Access opens up by itself. But this file has a
problem. It only opens if I press SHIFT when I access the file.

That implies that there's some code that's running when the database is
opening, either because of a macro named AutoExec, or because a form has
been specified as the startup form under Tools | Startup.

Holding down the shift key while opening a database (or other Office
documents, for that matter) means that startup code doesn't run.
