Just started using Access 2007 Beta 2. A created database saves with the

extension (.accdb) being automatically added and then cannot be seen when

opened.
There seems to be no facility to specify saving options using the Save As
function?
Existing DBs with the extension (.MDB) open and save OK.
So is this BETA version constricted????

Re: Database not saving correctly

Go to:
- Microsoft Office Button (top left),
- Access Options (bottom of dialog),
- Personalize (first tab)
- Creating Databases
and set:
Default file format

Haven't actually tested, but that should let you create an MDB in 2000 or

2002/03 format.

Re: Database not saving correctly

This cured the problem OK but users should be aware that the "save as"
function does not stipulate WHERE in the same way that the "Save As" option
does in all the programs that I have ever used, what comes up is very strange
and renames the file as a copy??? Also one has to designate the place where
files are to be saved in Access options. OK I suppose when you get used to
it!!!!

Thanks Allen -
