Hyperlinks to files not opening in the correct program

I have an access program in which the user can create a hyperlink in a field
to open certain files relating to the current record. My problem is that the

file is not opening in the correct program but if the file is selected on the
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=10363
hard drive outside the access program it opens correctly.

Is there any way of setting what program to open these hyperlinks from
within access?

Doesn't use hyperlinks but have a look at
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm
