Then the mob rules and ruler of the mob may not act as one | Veer Ji I feel the ideals of Guru Nanak are above this world of ours, so to rise to them we must rise out of the identity or side we happen to be on and take a detached view on these things.
I believe that in any Gurdwara, in any country ,if the jathebandi arm themselves with machine guns they will meet an armed response of some sort.I agree the Indian Army was heavy handed and handled it wrong, but any State would have to have to be concerned about militia forming so perhaps out Jathedar should have forseen the risk of Sangat getting caught up in things.

| | | | | Re: Bhindranwale's pursuit of Khalistan. sp ji you seem to have myopic negative view of Bhidrawale ji and the movement and a positive benevolent view of everything that occurred. I tend to be not like that.
Let us look at one sentence from above, Quote: |
I believe that in any Gurdwara, in any country ,if the jathebandi arm themselves with machine guns they will meet an armed response of some sort.
| I let you be the inventory taker of arms provided to stooges of the Government, the Deras, the RSS and so on. You believe that selective application versus fairness is all part of a Law above all that exists there. I wish there were no arms for anyone.

| Veer Ji Agreed on the above and it's true I'm slightly shortsighted and have to wear reading glasses ,as for Bhindrawale it's true I'm not his follower . |

I strongly detest carnage of the innocent Sikhs around the country, staged killings of many innocents, torture of innocents of all ages, attack on Harmandir Sahib and destruction of Sikh historic artifacts, none was lawful. This was not collateral damage. It was vicious and planned crusade against Sikhs and things Sikhi.
For me Khalistan if it ever was to be, could have been in 1947. Bhindrawale's movement could have been turned into a positive rejuvenation of Sikhism but unfortunately for Sikhism the results did not happen that way. There perhaps will be others in the future with more positive outcome for the Sikhs. I cannot visualize one at the one from all in the news. I cannot believe we are almost converging. Brothers spar without being bloody.

Veer Ji We were never separated it just appears that way on these screens,my Grandmother told me of the upheaval in 1947 and her younger brother died in the chaos of the Partion,it would have been true Khalistan if there was no partition, as to me khalistan is the oneness of all mankind. | | The following member appreciates Scarlet Pimpernel Ji for the above message. | |

| | | | | Re: Bhindranwale's Pursuit of Khalistan. I realize that the discussion on this thread is going in a different direction than what I'm about to say but I just wanted to clarify something. The title of the thread said Bhindrawale's Pursuit for Khalistan, from my knowledge of Sant Ji's quotes he said, ""I am not for or against Khalistan, but if we are given a separate Sikh nation we will not make the same mistake as '47, we will certainly take it." As far as my knowledge on the matter, Bhindranwale was in pursuit of passing The Anandpur Sahib Resolution in the courts. He was an obvious target because he was also critical of the sacriliges occuring by people who were destroying Sikhism from within (nirankari, radhaswami), discrepencies and injustices occurring by the Indian government, but most of all because he was able to generate a sort of fervour within the Sikhs for their own faith that had been absent in a long time, When some one stands for righteousness, and his efforts involve the young as well as the old to be better Sikhs, or any participant of a religion for that matter, there will always be a conflict with those who wish to maintian a system of deceit and innjustice. Remember, if one person's efforts ifluences a majority of people to stand for righteousness who have the ability to overwhelm people in positions of power, those people will do anything they can to stifle it. Which is what ended up happening. Sorry about the rant everyone, the assumption that Bhindrawale's motivation was only khalistan was the one propagated by the media, wherein this was used to label him terrorist. P.S. For anyone who's interested in learning more about the Air India Plane Crash that happened in Canada linked to Babbar Khalsa and the Khalistan Movement: Soft Target by Brian Mc Andrew and Zuhair Kashmeri that is very detailed in the Indian Government's involvement in the matter and the subsequent coverup.
Apologize again for the scatological remarks.

I hope you have read the following, http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/hard-t...tml#post158068 http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/hard-t...tml#post158095 The relative context is very misleading. Most sects, Deras, placed set up/supported to destroy SIkhism, in Punjab would have many times the arms. We are not even talking of organizations outside of Sikhism. Tamil Tigers set up by interests in Tamil Nadu we all know what they had.
