I tried to find out the qualifications of Ramakant Tiwari but did not find much – there were too many and difficult to tell who this one is.
I recommend a book ‘
Sikh Religion and Hinduism’ by GS Sidhu – I bow to him to be able to make sense of what is and has been going on in ‘Hinduism’. You may also want to read about Swami Ram Tirath Ji on both religions.
It is difficult to call Hinduism a religion as there is not much about god in its Scriptures; Sikhs are taught to conquer kam. krodh, lobh, moh and hankar – Hinduism tells you various ways these were perfected and practiced.
Lies, cheating and deceit are part of Hinduism as per Vedas and Puranas etc. and I do not see a directive that they are rejected.
The above document notes that we use Ram, Krishan and other names in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji – in Hindu Scriptures these are used as names of gods but they lived lives possibly like present day Hindu except they had powers like to turn into babies when naked Anusuya was presenting food to the three (Bramah, Vishnu and Shiva) when discovered by her husband Atri.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji uses about 1800 names all used to depict god so that anybody who reads knows it by any of these names may not feel left out.
Some
gods were sex maniacs some
waged wars on other gods and people – in
Sikhi we
do not even
have Banis of our own Gurus
who physically
lifted weapons to protect themselves!
Vedas and Shasters have been recognised to have knowledge of worldly ways and science and people have I believe benefited – but knowledge is Sikhi we are supposed to go and find that anywhere we can find East – West.
Athererva Veda is totally dedicated to charm from depriving a man of virility to arousing passionate love of a woman and even denies people food – it may help Brahmins make their living it does not help a Sikh towards his goal.

Over the times there have been documents written to explain these Veds by Puranas, and further explained by Mahabharta and Bhagwat Gita and after that by Sutras etc.
With so many Documents and basic clause that ‘Authority of Vedas cannot be questioned’ the documents contradict each other and contents – authority has already been violated if anyone could have taken any directive from them.
To shorten this note (it can go on as the Ved discussions go) Sikhs can be from Hindu background, from American white Sikhs, similarly Canadian, African, Arab – they may have changed their religion from Christians, Islam, Buddhism etc. they are Sikhs because they have narrowed down the confusion and noise of life to 1430 pages. The life was practiced and shown to people for over two hundred years so that we can work out how to change with time and circumstances but not to forget that all we have is by the Grace of 1God, who teaches us to work hard and share the gain with all.

So
Hindus you
can be Sikhs to see the light and for those preaching that Sikh scriptures should be changed – try finding faults with the Islamic (thought and knowledge included) contribution included and tell what part in Hindu Scriptures has a parallel that our Gurus missed.
