Why some of the sikhs deny creation of khalistan?

Was just wondering, why some of the people are against the creation of Khalistan. I mean we do see that like every other religion sikhism is dying in India. If creation of Khalistan would help us preserve our religion then why are we so against it?

There are no good books available about sikh philosphy. I mean there are books but they are not available to read. Good articles are banned. There is no means to acquire education. Government is getting successful in what they wanted. Brahmin philosophy is slowly assimilating in the youth, isn't that totally against Guru Nanak Dev Ji's philosophy. I don't think there other way possible to save the religion than having a separate nation where no one can ban us from having quality education about sikhism, where religion will not be in hands of a bunch of politicians who for their own selfish motives are distorting the religion. we lost so much of history while 1984. what else do we have to loose?

Can someone please help me understand why khalistan is not required. I am new to all this, if someone can throw some light on this that will be great.

Right now I think corruption has crept in to a large degree in our society. If we had a Khalistan right now, I think it would be a pretty corrupt, casteist place. People would discriminate against each other over caste and religion making it a pretty miserable place for many.

Also the movement has been going on for years now but has failed to develop or become sophisticated in that time. The fact that after all these years, the average Khalistani still can't map out the legal system, education system, broad economic plans, defense strategies, policing tactics etc. is not promising.

It seems such people want a country but are totally unaware of what it takes to run one. The closeness with of Khalistanis with Pakistani intelligence agencies is also off putting to those who live with people from that country and experience strife (in the UK sections of pakistani and Sikh youth are at each other throats over alleged conversions of Sikh girls).

So many questions remain to be answered about a hypothetical Khalistan. What would the position of nonSikhs be? What infrastructure will be used to run the country? Simply put, so many guys are leaving Punjab right now, do they really feel that attached to the land? Do such Sikhs have the military power and know how to fight both India and Pakistan if it came to it? Imagine India using their aeroplanes to carpet bomb Punjab, what would happen? What about people who are lax in their Sikhi, what would their position be in Khalistan? What if want to drink and have hair cuts? Would they be punished?

Being brave and being able to handle an ak47, doesn't mean you can run a country which is a complex affair.

How would Khalistan help preserve Sikhi?

Khalistan will not help to preserve Sikhi.

Non of the Sikh Gurus including Guru Gobind Singh Ji sought political power or felt the necessity to form a kingdom. They strongly opposed fascist tendencies. Khalsa is meant to protect the weak and to prevent the hegemony of one group of people over the other. If Khalistan is formed then whom will we protect and against whom? There is a real danger that Khalistan will degenerate to fascism, the concept that the great Sikh Gurus fought against.

Sikhism will never die. It will flourish in distant lands and also revive in its land of birth and without Khalistan. This will be for the good of mankind!

The people who need a separate identity as a nation means they have no respect for the separate identity given by Guruji. they really dont know sikhi. Sikhi is actually a thought which can purify all sins. It is not the outer cover which are claiming although we have to preserve it as our Guruji loves it and sacrificed a lot for it. If we really love our Guruji and love Sikhi then we should follow whatever is written in Shri Guru Granth Sahib and lead a peaceful life. Everyother thing is "Karamkand".

as SIKHI exist best at the level of the Individual
So individual has to save it ( if it is all needed ...well i dont think so ) at his own level as well pointed in above post by living life in HUKUM

but how do we respond to all the atrocities india has done

we don't support khalistan because it will not be in the lager interest of every true sikh person who have made unimaginable sacrifices for creation of free india and india belong to him more than any other person of different caste color and creed. for god sake dont try to confine us in a tiny state of divided punjab where we cannot properly breath with your narrow thinking of creating so called khalistan. you cannot seperate two sons of one mother india.just because of one particular religious practise. bhupinder malhotra
