Attainments by Jaap.

Dear cyber Sadh Sangat

1.Can any/some scholars explain to me the TRUE meaning of JAAP?

2.Is it a title? If it is how can one get one?

3.Is it is a process? Then I would like to learn the modus operandi.

4.What is the purpose of Jaap?

5.How can one help mankind after attaining the Jaap?

6.Doesn't attainment mean destination? so once we attain Jaap then

what comes next and what is its name?

I do apologise for the questions because I do not know the answers so
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=23895
I urge the scholars to give me the benefit of the doubt. This is the
only way I can learn from it.

Thanks & Regards.

Tejwant Singh

Saint Augustine said that God gave us the senses for using them properly.

But we misuse them by indulging in sensual pleasures;
whereas the bliss for which we should have striven remains enshrined in scriptures only.
It's a good question to ask Tejwant Singh Ji, as we should follow the footsteps of our beloved Guru Ji.

Jo Prabh Ko Milbo Chahey Khoj Shabad Meh Ley

Re: Attainment by Jaap

So that it examines further on this subject, somebody should realise that the soul
is a entity distinct from the body. It should we learn also practice they withdraw
the currents of soul from the lower centres of body in the focus glance.
Is this process similar with the one that is submitted by the soul at the duration one'? natural death s.

It should we increase itself above the body-conscience.
The theoretical knowledge of this process is not enough.
The practice is much more important.
One ounce of practice is more from tones of theory.

Re: Attainment by Jaap

Thus we must connect our spirit with the word. Now we consider what the word (Naam) indicates.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=23895
The word has two functions. One is a epiteto and l' other is that last power to which l' epiteto one refers.
As an example, l' water in itself is a thing, but it refers to from many names;
as an example, water, aqua, H20, etc Similarly, the truth is one;
but they have described it to the salvie in several senses.
Guru the Nanak says: " I want to sacrifice on all your names, 0 Lord."
Guru the Gobind Singh (the tenth one guru sikh) has compiled the hundreds of names
of the God in its " of the job; Jaap Sahib." These names are beyond that those already pointed out
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=23895
in the several sacred writings. In spite of the hundreds of names, the God is one. Similarly,
there are many religions; but their objective is one.

Something else that is interesting. Sri Guru Gobind Singh's philosophy of a "just war" is very similar to the thinking of Augustine on the same concept of war. But the thread is about "jaap" so sorry for my digression.

Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=23895

This question about the soul however. Is it possible that the Guru's had the same disdain for the world of senses as did Augustine? I do not think so but would find a discussion on this point very interesting. Apologies for my second digression.
