Koi Bole Ram Ram is a beautiful shabad, originally sang in qawwali form by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. From Ramakali Mehala 5, the Shabad talks about the various ways a person can address/pray to God, but most important is the dedication towards God and understanding the Truth.

Riyaaz Qawwali, under Project Kishti, would like to reach out to the wonderfully devotional and musically inclined Sikh community with this rendition of Koyee Bolle Ram Ram posted at http://www.youtube.com/user/riyaazQawwali . It is our hope to bring qawwali to new audiences, while sticking to the purpose of qawwali- to use music as a medium to become closer with humanity-at-large and the power up above all of us.

I think it is wonderful. There is much discipline in the performance, and clarity of music and voices. That frames the passion. But then I am biased toward qawwali. This is also a unique performance.

And one of the most beautiful of shabads. The use of the viola is not ordinary and a treat for lovers of this musical form.
