Picture Sikhs in the world wars.
A random collection of Sikh images I found interesting.

Afterthought - I think I should add that I, personally, am no fan of imperialism and have posted these pictures from the perspective of purely historic interest. Although I greatly admire the bravery of the Sikh soldiers which had become almost legendary, I also think that as a community we need to discuss this period of our history and draw appropriate lessons for the future. What really saddens me is that despite having such a strong representation in the powerful military forces of the British at that time, Sikhs were unable to prevent the mass scale murder of their own at partition. I believe there are important lessons for us in that fact.

Enough of the seriousness! I hope you all enjoy this collection.

Picture The Birds of Gurbani
Sangat ji

A personal passion: To understand the role birds play as symbols of the Soul for Guruji. Read about the birds and the mango tree.

Almost all the images of the birds came from a data base at this link,

Picture Chardhi Kala Jatha in Ilford
I learnt that I am totally incapable of taking pictures today. This is the only one of ten I took that was barely in focus!

CKJ was awesome. As it was my nephew's birthday and he was having a langar I could only watch them for 15 minutes or so before I had to go downstairs to do some serving seva.

Sorry I didn't get any more photos guys.
