They will always be "indian", just not in India. Indian is an ethnicity, khalistani isn't - but you can call yourself whatever you want.

Re: Why Khalistan?

indian is an ethnicity...

get it right !!!!!!!!!!!!

indian is nationality not ethnicity

and if you think punjabi is a single ethnicity - you got it grossly wrong too...

there are many ethnic groups within punjab.

coming back to my question-

we have a funny situation

a large number of people living ina geography and currently witha nationality of india want to remain as indian.

but some people sitting in other countries want to turn them out of their own land, just because they do prayers saying "Raj karega Khalsa"

now i donot want the logic that they are welcome to become subject of a new nation "khalistan"

a lot of people are passionate about the passport they carry and also want to live on their motherland.

funny isn't it?

it becomes even more funny that those same people donot dare try making a khalistan in the countries they live in ... LOL

It is good to keep 'wishfuls' in the wish list and keep on dreaming till there are no dreams left because one will get a chronic insomniac.
Let us know that one shall have to fight with a state.Indian state is not weak.
Look at Kashmir. I am not going into the justification of it or otherwise but India has deployed its more than half the army for last 60 years.

No one wants to give away an inch Of land.

Are we that organised?
We could not sort out the turban Issue with the french Government. These are the areas that will have to be looked into before thinking of some big projects.
Right now it is possible if US supports sikhs in getting Sikhisthan/Khalistan and also deploys F16 bombers with all its crude power.

The final outcome "
Sikhs singing their National Anthem..

Saare Jahan se Acha ye Khalistan hamara..
Hum rul rulein hein iske
ye phoolistan hamar...

happy dreaming.
All the luck.

Post Re: Why Khalistan?

Do Jains have their own homeland? Do Protestants have their own homeland? Do Mathodists need their own homeland? Do Mormans need their own homeland? Do the Anglican Communion have their own homeland? I am not being offensive, or tying to be offensive at all. I am just asking simple questions. The Gurus taught us that we are equal to everyone else on the planet and that people of all religions are equal. There are only a few religious states in the world when you look at all the religions that there are they do not all have their own country. So why do Sikhs need their own country. We have such a long history in India, and we have been part of India and helped India for so long. By the way Sant Bhrindranwale Ji only asked for an independent state after the Indian government forced him by starting operation blue star. Why don’t American want their country to be a Christian state as they have a huge majority in America. How would everyone feel Sikhs included if America became an official Christian state? So what about the Hindus, and Muslims, in Punjab how would they feel if Punjab became an independent Sikh state?

The point of Khalistan is NOT to separate! It is to give Sikhs equal rights, where they are recognized as SIKHS not Hindus!

we Sikhs have absolute no power or say in the world. why i don't know. maybe it has to do with that we have no state supporting us. India would be the last ones to support us. we are not even recognized as Sikhs in India. I think for survival of a people or religion some sort of worldly power is essential. In the world right now Anglo Saxon Christan's have the last say whether we realize it or not. If sher-e-punjab had not dug his own grave than entire Asian continent would be different today. And we sikhs would be known in every corner of the world.

Re: Why Khalistan?

IMHO the spectre of Khalistan was a BOGEY raised by CONGRESS party to defame Sikhs & portray them as Anti-National terrorists ,to turn attention from real issues , to take revenge for unparalled resolute & defiance , sacrifice shown by Akali workers during Emergency when whole of the Nation could not have guts to stand upto Indira's excesses . The real issues were those mentioned in ANANDPUR SAHIB RESOLUTION . Even today the so-called RADICALS like Dal Khalsa r nothing more than a bunch of people on Congress payrolls to raise HOT slogans with the sole intention of maligning Akalis & denting their vote-bank to benifit Congress . The present Akali Dal ( SADB) is also not working in true Akali spirit , working as a private limited party of Prakash Singh Badal & his family . Working under pressure from fascist RSS(BJP) always , but that is I suppose the price u have to pay to be successful in a democracy like India where every vote is sold for a price . The real issue today for Sikhs is high rate of Drug addiction among youth , high rate of intoxicants use , Apostateness , the rise of Deras , Babas , Saadhs etc , increasing superstition ,Idleness - Consumerism among village youth , Female foeticide , Castism , Very low literacy levels , high school droputs , low quality high education , low carrer prospects , low IT penetration , lack of high level industry . A lack of dedication among both SADB & Congress is there . Both thses parties lack will-power to bring the requisite changes . SADB is more guilty on this count as it has not performed its duty of preaching also ( Controlling SGPC ) . There r about 3.6 million Sikh households in Punjab . The monthly magazine of SGPC ' GURMAT PRAKASH ' costs about 200RS . for life membership . The total expenditure of distributing GURMAT PRAKASH comes to about 72 Crores in whole of Punjab forever . It is a one-time expenditure , not much for SGPC with annual budget of 400 Crores .If required Punjab Govt can also pitch in with contribution . But SADB is not doing it because that way whole of Sikh-Sangat will come to know about the principles of Gurbani especially the principle of MIRI-PIRI & as such there will be all sort of competition & awareness about the role of SGPC & power of Akal Takhat Sahib . In such a scenario there will be no place for a person like Prakash Singh Badal or at least his current policies . So preaching the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is its very true essence holds the key for Punjab & Sikhism in future .... Thanks

Some questions.

1. What does Khalistan mean?
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=19538
2. Who would be the citizens of Khalistan?
3. What kind of govt would Khailstan have?
4. Does Gurbani say anything about Khalistan?
5. Did any of our Gurus mention anything about Khalistan?

Input from all including Khalistanis would be highly appreciated.
