Gurbani Says

Vaid Koran Juthay Nahin Juthay Jo Naa Vicharay.

At this we can also say;

Vaid Koran Granth Bible juthay nahin juthay Jo Naa Vicharay.

I am glad that you found god through Christ. That makes you our brothern. I still find Gurbani the most joyous and fulfilling.

For Christianity Jesus/Savior of the truthfu/holy one, is coming for a second time, for sure if Jesus was to come back, He would surely not be in or part of the Christian Church, you imagine Jesus worshiping himself with his followers. I dont, but I believe if GOD was to send someone, that someone will surely worship under the roof of Sikhism, carriying the flag of Khalsa.

Well, being myself from christian background I can say: Jesus is nothing in comparison with Guru Nanak or Sant Kabir. I don't understand the sikhs praise to Jesus... there is not proof of his existence in Gurus writings, in truth christian doctrines seems the antitesis of sikhism.

Gurfateh

In Guru Granth Sahib term Kateeb refere to Four Holy Semtic books ie Taurait,Jabour,Anjeel and Kuran.

Angeel is mentioned in Dasham Granth also.In Sau Sakhi Jesus is termed as Son of Brhamins (Akal worshippers) do did not forsakethier God.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=470

Even further name of Isha(Jesus) is temred to be dreived from Ishwar(Lord God).

Sikhs Worship same God that of Aryans(civilied) and Jews(who are in fact those Aryans who nenver gave up their God).

Again in Var of Bhai Gurdas Chrestians are mnetioned in obective semse.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=470

Last but not the least there are some Christian brethern,who tend to misinterpret Bible to the level of fairy tales instead of understadning the deepr spritual meanings so we see apparant differance.

Rajs is from gnostic Church ,who had many things common with us.

Say God was Called Oan.OM or Onam in Vedic period.We refer the same as Oankar.Jews termed that as yehovee.Then El Yehovi by Chrsitians.Muslims called the same As Al Elah making the name Allah.

Root for all is same.

Imagine Abraham ( or other prophet/sage etc..) back in the days
In days of hardship or reverence he would go up a mountain
One day he had direct conversation with ‘god’
His conciouss mind can’t comprehend what has just happened
But wants still to talk to his friends family and society about it.
So he tries to explain in their language and with references to their culture
That then crystallizes and becomes their religion

Imagine then Buddha, jesus, mohaamed all having the same experience but explained differently based on different language and cultural experiences
Same source different explations due to differing understandings ie Sant maskeen jee said ‘ muslim’s would problem bathe fully daily as per Sikhs if there weren’t a shortage of water in arab states at the time of conception of religion’

Re: Why do I believe in Jesus ? An ex-sikh’s journey in faith

Dear believer in Christ,
I suggest you keep going. The One that lead you to Sikh Dharma, lead you to Christianity. There is no 1st prize here. No one owns the Truth. It is the Truth that owns you, oh soul of the Divine.
Jesus said, "Many are called but few are chosen."
The message of Guru Nanak is not a philosophy. It is a discipline!
May I suggest oh dear one that you read the 5th chapter of Matthew. Here in is the Master's teachings.
The name of Guru Nanak means: no ego. Humilty.
In Jesus words, he says, " I am the Light of the world, no man comes to the Father except by me".
He is correct. But dear one, you must become that same "I Am". By God's Grace you will.
Amen, Amin, Aum, Ong, Sat Nam, Allah, Allelullia, Yahuweh, Wahe Guru are all the same vibration. The same source, the same origin.
Nanak worships the Word. Through that state of consciousness, he teaches us how to experience that humility, that kindness, that love of God. He guides his Sikhs.
Jesus is one teacher, one "Son" and it is easy to trap one self in worshiping him. That is the easy path. It requires no discipline, no commitment to your soul. Just reliance on belief that he was born and died for your sins. That interpretation of his mission is the one which attracts 1.5 billion people. So be it. This is God's Will. It is also His Divine Will that we who follow Guru's teachings speak the Truth, live the Truth and even die for that Truth.
We Sikhs (Disciples of the Guru) bow and worship the Akal Purkh, the Akhand Joti,(the Eternal Light) the Shabd! (The Word)
My dear, when you come to this forum, you feel compelled to teach us with your evangelical spirit. It won't work, You are preaching to those who anscestor's have endured torture, humilation, death and have not cut their hair because they meditate on the Bani of the Guru. Why do you think your limited experience of God can alter that?
We are sons and daughters of a Warrior Saint. We serve the One God. WE hold you in hight esteem, but because our 5th Guru (Guru Arjan Dev) and our 9th Guru (Guru Teg Bahadur) gave their lives for religious "liberty" we continue to remember and bow our heads to the Word (The Shabd Guru) . We are intoxicated on God's Name, Day and Night. "Naam Kumre Nanaka, Cherdi Kare Din Rat"
We will never bow to a man, a woman, a personality but to only to the One Who Created this Creation.
I was born into Christainity. I lived it devotionally for 21 years. At that age, I met Guru Nanak. At 23 I met Guru Gobind Singh. At 24, I became his son. At 25 I was given the obligation to minister, to marry, to council. At 35 I visited the Guru's place of yogic practice, high in the Himalayas. It is where the Guru was ordered by the ONE God to take birth one more time.

"He who calls me God will fall into the pit of Hell".
At 49, I visited the place of my spiritual birth; Anandpur Sahib
Now at 56, I say these words to you"
Be yourself perfect, even as you Father in Heaven is Perfect!. You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine for all men and women to see.
Through Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh, may HIs Name forever increase, may your spirit be exalted and may all prosper by HIs Grace.
Wahe Guru! God bless you oh seeker of Truth.

Re: Why do I believe in Jesus ? An ex-sikh’s journey in faith

I am so delighted to find a forum where people speak so freely and sweetly to each other. This is such a controversial topic and so very dear to everyones hearts. I'm impressed with everyone's patience and dignity. I must however confess complete ignorance about the Sikhi religion before I say anything. Please be tolerant, I am learning as fast as I can I would only like to reply to the comments that Christians are intolerant. Christianity is a sometimes used as a tool by people to justify completely non-Christian attitudes and beliefs. One truth: that we should love one another. Jesus never said...we should only love Christians. And certainly not people who are as good natured as the Sikhis seem to be . In fact he said we should love our enemies just as we do our brothers. Another truth: Jesus died to redeem all men. Not just Jews...not just anyone....all men. The only reason I would ever reply in a way that contradicts any of you is so you can see my perspective. I say these things with great respect in my heart for you.

Dear Siblings of Destiny,

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh!

This forum on the discusion of Yeshua/Issa, Jesus (Joshua) who became the Christ, the annointed, the Divine Son of Yahuweh is inevitable when so many are seeking and browsing the internet.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=470

It is no different when the Guru's were here as humans.
The beauty in this is we Sikhs have Gurbani. We have the Guru's words. They are Universal Truth. WE don't have to quote Bible or Koran or Vedas. We just answer the inquiry with the mouth of the Guru. Gurmukhi. Guru Angad Dev gave us that.
Ong Sang Wahe Guru!
Our Siri Guru Ganth Sahib is the constant Guru that transcends time and space. No scripture has been so close to Naam since probably the Ark of the Covenant. It took a long time for the Jews to evolve out of their slave consciousness and become "priests" and prophets.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=470
Guru Nanak is a Master of the Word. He gave the world the key to the Truth. It took 9 more incarnations of His Light to manifest the Khalsa. Then with humility and wisdom the 10th Master bowed before the same Shabd that shown Its light on Guru Nanak. We only worship the Divine Gurbani, the Divine Word of God.
Now, our Nishan flies high on the Guru's banner. It is mark of Grace.
"Nanak Nadaree Nadar Nihal"
"Oh Nanak, it is His Grace that fills man with Bliss". That last line of Japji is the sum total of Guru Nanaks message.
