I agree with you 1000%, Kanwaldeepji.

"...if some lucky men survive the onslaught of the third world war of atomic and hydrogen bombs, then the Sikh religion will be the only means of guiding them." -- Bertrand Russell.

, that just doesn't make sense....If it can't guide them before, it will be able to guide them after?

It guided Sikhs for a few years, now look where we are...

FTR, Bertrand Russell considered himself a humanist athiest & wrote many essays on the internal contradictions of Christianity. He was also one of the best mathematicians and logicians of the 20th Century, so he knew what he was talking about.

After that quote someone asked him pretty much the same question you did. He answered "Yes, it has the capability, but the Sikhs have not brought out in the broad daylight, the splendid doctrines of this religion which has come into existence for the benefit of the entire mankind. This is their greatest sin and the Sikhs cannot be freed of it."

In fact, one of the reasons I can call myself a "Unitarian-Universalist Sikh" is that UUs have the same philosophy as Sikhism in many ways (although they do not consider themselves a "religion" as much as a spiritually-based community of many religions) and came to many of the same conclusions from a very different path. I think it's a pity that UUs don't know very much about the wisdom of the Gurus, I think they'd love to explore that. It's my one-person mission to introduce them to Sikhism.

May i request you to associate SPN with your mission. It would quite wonderful really. What kind of changes your would reccommend in the present set of the website so that its becomes a much more viable media for such kind of dialogue.

Best Regards

I already do this, definitely. When I meet anyone who is curious about Sikhi, or who is Sikh and is looking for a good cyberhome, I refer them here. SPN is my virtual Sangat.

Jogindar ji, I hope you can convince them to add either the Khanda or Ik Ongkar to the symbols that are often displayed at a UU house of worship
