SSA,
I am giving a webpage link ( which was sent to me by a gurmukh friend) of a news published in an internet paper. I request sikh scholers of this forum to read it and see what head priest is saying:-

Ambedkar Lehar
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/books-on-sikhism/30776-brahmanical-way-of-applying-gurbani.html

How Giyani ji could use gurbani in brahmanical way. This is not as per the teachings of gurbani.
I like all the true sikhs to read and comment.

Yes cheema ji, but concerned sikhs and sangat can, and must do something. These forums are the best means to let the people know that what is sikhism and what is not.

Re: Brahmanical Way of Applying Gurbani

Here is the history of construction of Baoli Saheb :

“The violent opposition of the caste-conscious Hindus of Goindwal to the egalitarian principles and practices of the Third Guru led to their breaking the pots of and stoning the Sikhs who went to the village well for fetching water. Guru Amardas ordered the excavation of a deep well - Baoli Sahib - in 1556 to provide a source of water for his followers and the depressed classes. The annoyance of the local Hindus and Khatris increased, because a large number of the Sikhs from different parts of the country came to Goindwal to participate in the construction of the well.”

Source : http://www.gurmat.info/
There are eighty-four steps reaching down the Baoli. This number eighty-four is said to stand for the eighty-four million types of species which inhabit this earth. It is also said that through which one must progress in order to take birth as a human.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=30776
BUT to wrongly believe that reciting the entire Japji Sahib followed by a bath in the baoli on each of the 84 steps with a pure heart would lead to spiritual emancipation is to negate what our beloved Sri Guru Granth Saheb ji tells us.
It negates the role of Simran.
In the Japji Saheb itself the way is clear :
ਕਿਵਸਚਿਆਰਾਹੋਈਐਕਿਵਕੂੜੈਤੁਟੈਪਾਲਿ
kiv sachiaaraa hoeeai kiv koorrai thuttai paal ||
o how can you become truthful? And how can the veil of illusion be torn away?

ਹੁਕਮਿਰਜਾਈਚਲਣਾਨਾਨਕਲਿਖਿਆਨਾਲਿ
hukam rajaaee chalanaa naanak likhiaa naal ||1||
O Nanak, it is written that you shall obey the Hukam of His Command, and walk in the Way of His Will. ||1||

The said wrong belief is a Brahmanical influence that subtly enters in such a manner. The Sikhs should remain true to the Guru and accept only what is as in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji .

Re: Brahmanical Way of Applying Gurbani

As doing Jap ji at every step and then taking a dip in the Baoli is anti Gurmat, then why doesn't the Akal Takhat come out with the Hukumnaama forbidding this rather than other meaningless ones which they have been issuing for quite sometimes?

I know lots of people getting sick, catching pneumonia performing this silly Hinduised ritual. In the Sikhi spirit of full disclosure, I must confess that my own sister also participated in this anti Gurmat ritual and we did have a long chat about it.

What can I say? It is sad to notice that we have become great parrots of Gurbani with one ugly plumage.
