Re: women and turbans

However some do believe keski (small turban) is the 5th k and i will provide some sources giving evidence supporting it as a k just as vijaydeep singh ji has given som against it as a k. So pls find some time to look at the following links so you can make your own mind up about it:

Turban is NOT obligatory for women. This is ture as far as code of sgpc is concerned or code of Nihungs or Nirmalas are concerned.Das want to inform this thing here is that Panth Khalsa or what we call as Sikhism in west is more concerned about worship of eternal God Akal, who is in each and evey atom.Occupies each and every space.

The five Ks come only after once we have faith in that God.It comes once we see God in all.We ,by mercy of God start to love all and serve all we are serving God.

coming on to Turban. It is encouragable if lady wears turban as it has same benfit as it gives to male.Like in martial art,Fighting with turban is better then without it.It does protect us from heat, cold or rain.As Das was a non Sikh converted to Sikhism at the age of 21 years. So Das initial found it difficult to understand how to tie the turban.

As far as his regiment of Sikhs are concerned they are knwn to tie the in an easy fashion which appears rather haphazard way.But das got help from a senior officer. And now he wears turban as in formal style.

So as in your case you can ask any service personal or Granthi or Gurudwara sahib who can help you to know the way how to tie it.you can also ask any sister from honourable AKJ for that. They even think turban as one of the 5ks.They have there valid points. But for a normal Sikh lady covering of head matters and that can be done by scaff.

Even covering head all the time like a ritual is anti Gurmat. To be khalsa (Pure one)one must worship Akal only no Avtar(incarnations) no Prophets or No Guru but Khalis(Purly) God is to be worshipped.

You can visit the lonk below

Das is repeating that as per code uncut hairs Kesh are must, that also after haivng faith in Akal the eternal God.Guru himself said ,Mark of Sikhs are five k letters,...without Kes or uncut hairs other 4 ks are useless....
