aapay aap niranjan so-i. That Pure One is all in all Himself. jin sayvi-aa tin paa-i-aa maan. They who serve Him, obtain honour. naanak gaavee-ai gunee niDhaan. O Nanak! sing praises of the Lord who is the treasure of excellences. gaavee-ai sunee-ai man rakhee-ai bhaa-o. With the Lord's love reposed in thy heart sing and hear His praises. dukh parhar sukh ghar lai jaa-i. Thus shalt thou shed pain and shalt take happiness to thy home. gurmukh naadN gurmukh vaydN gurmukh rahiaa samaa-ee. Gurbani is the Divine Word, Gurbani the Lord's Knowledge and through Gurbani the Lord is realised to be all pervading. gur eesar gur gorakh barmaa gur paarbatee maa-ee. The Guru replaces Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, Guru replaces Mother Parbati. jay h-a-o jaanaa aakhaa naahee kahnaa kathan naa jaa-ee. Even though I Know God, I cannot narrate Him, He cannot be described by words. guraa ik dayhi bujhaa-ee. The Guru has explained one thing to me. sabhnaa jee-aa kaa ik daataa so mai visar naa jaa-ee. ||5|| There is but one Bestower for all the beings May, I never forget Him.
