1. What does Khalistan mean in a literal and spiritual sense of the word?

The word “Khalistan” means Land of the Pure. Khalistan is the name of a separate Sikh state. I don’t understand if you are against the country or the name but name can always be changed. Burma’s name was changed. A country does not have to represent anything in spiritual sense. Do more than 200 names of countries represent anything spiritual?

2. Why do we need Khalistan?

The question should be “why don’t we”. The reasons are unlimited. Few are: Freedom, honor, protection, dignity and most important of all life as a Sikh. If every person needs a home then why doesn’t a community need a home? Why does a community have to live at the mercy of other governments and live as a beggar?

3. Who would be the citizens of Khalistan?

This question is not very smart because it implies that Khalistan will be limited to only small number of people. Khalistan will be open to everyone. Whoever lives in Khalistan, abides by its rules and laws will have the right to become citizen. Just look at few countries in the world for an example. Sikhi does not discriminate against non-Sikhs.

4.Why did not any of our Gurus , who built several towns and cities name any of the cities Khalispur rather than naming Govindwal, Kartarpur etc etc. ?

Once again, what are you against? The name or the country? Name can be changed. What if we change the name of the country to Kartarpur? Would you be in favor then? Guru Sahib taught Sikhs to live a free life and live as Sikhs not as “long haired hindus”. He established Anand Karaj for us not “Hindu marriage act”. Akal Takhat Sahib handles Sikh affairs not Delhi government. Guru Sahib was never against the concept of a separate country. Gurbani clearly states:

Fareed begs, O Lord, do not make me sit at another's door. If this is the way you are going to keep me, then go ahead and take the life out of my body.

We can discuss these in details but only if you are open minded and willing to change. Otherwise, it is a waste of time for you and me. Then it is better to go on and live our lives as they are. Response of Mr. Amar if his opinion. If Sikhs are above the concept of “my country” then why does he claim “proud to be an Indian”? I am 100% sure that people of Punjab want change. My friend took a short survey of about 400 people and not a single person claimed to be happy with the Indian system and wanted a change. Deep down inside, they are not at peace but it is the terror of Indian government and its brutality that is keeping them quiet. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
