Re: Herman Hesse, Steppenwolf Treatise

Wow ! Harry ji that is a big post! I think it will need some time to read all this , or is this just a summerisation?
I will read it tommorow, now I havenīt much time.
Harry Haller aka. the Steppenwolf aka. Herman Hesse( yes Herman Hesse -the two letters from Harry Haller - start with his name Herman Hesse - the "H.H" ) have all the same features - if you look at Herman hesseīs life you will find some parallels . I love hwo we writes and explain hisself . The conflicting nature between his two "consciences " are in every human - and here i see similarties with Sikhs . We need to manage the maya and - reach "god" with our mind. We have two consciences - the worldy one and the spiritual one - sant Sipahi - Herman expresses this fragmentation of Haller jis Soul, He tries to find something more than just the shallow folks do - but on other sight he canīt control his animal instincts - everyday is a fight for him, like we sikhs do - many problems are surronding him his environment - is full of hypocrites who donīt understand him - he asks hisself how they can life a simple life like that - why I canot do thiis? Why I canīt live a shallow life?? This is shredding me insight! People donīt think deeper - they just believe everything - they are so naive so infantile - Why canīt I have this kind of happiness? Problems over problems... They only think and have thoughts if it is necessary and try to solve this problems surface and thats enough- but no it isnīt! They eat their bread and doesnīt think about , what is in it - what are its ingredients? Why it has ingredients and where are they from - why in this particular way... They donīt have to worry until their marmelade tastes like ****... Why I canīt understand? I have seen through them but I can not live like this ..
