I never quite understood the drive of some to convert others into their religion by hook or crook. Yes it will add another number towards the ranks of that religion but it would be a hollow number that has no real meaning.

For example:

Let's say that Person A forces Person B to convert to Scientology (it's an example go with it) either using seduction, force, or promises of food, clothing, shelter, etc. Person B may start to call himself a Scientologist but on the inside he will still believe in the tenets of his previous/real religion.

It doesn't really strengthen Scientology since it only adds a fake follower doing it for impure reasons. It just inflates the number of followers that religion would have so the number of true followers looks bigger than it actually is.
