Yes Gyaniji,

The only difference is that when Communism and russia collapsed under its own weight, it did not disturb the rest of the world but when Enron, Lehman Bros, Arther Anderson, Merril Lynch and such institutions of "repute" collapsed (which had the audacity to sit on judgment and rate even sovereign countries) because of their financial mismanagement they took major countries of the world with them in the downward spiral. India just managed to escape partly because of its good luck and in part because of its prudent financial management.

So even the capitalistic system is not "fool"proof. If tommorrow, the major economies like Japan, Germany, UK, Cnada, China etc decide to withdraw their money from US then the US economy will crumble and fold up like a pack of cards.
