But a convert's first ever time in sangat in Gurdwara is just like that -- underneath it all there is a structure - but no one seems to be bothered by too many formalities or the need to explain -- of course there are some formalities. My main thoughts leaving too many to relate. Gurdwara services are completely different in climate, demeanor, purpose and experience from anything else I have ever experienced. Including the time a little boy thought I would make a good rampart for his toy truck, and his eyes flew open when, after he rolled it toward me and into me, I rolled it back to him.

After that -- who would want things to be different?
