Re: Gifts of JaapJi Pauris Sat Nam, Arvind Ji! Thank you for replying. Yes JapJi Sahib with 38 or 40 pauris (depending on whether Mul Mantra and ending Shlok are counted or not) is what I am referring to. I believe I have seen it written as JaapJi in some place or places, but from my understanding, you are right, it is mukta (short "a" vowel), not a long "a" vowel and should not be "aa" in any transliteration. I might be mistaken about having seen it written as "JaapJi".Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/jap-ji-sahib/4467-gifts-of-japji-pauris.html The Aquarian Teacher is a Kundalini Yoga book for Teachers of K. Yoga. It's full title is "The Aquarian Teacher Manual". I do not have the book, but have only a page listing "The Effects of the Paurees of JapJi" copied from the 2003 edition of it. A few examples of the effects quoted from that page follow: 14th pauri: "when you cannot find your path in life; when you cannot see the direction to your destiny, and when you cannot achieve fulfillment, the 14th pauri will show you the way." 28th pauri: "is the strongest permutation and combination of words in the world. It unites you with God." (This has certainly been my experience!) 36th pauri: "brings divine realisation. It grants complete understanding of the Heavens and the Earth."Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=4467 So I am wishig to track these descriptions of the "effects of the Pauris" back to their origin, or at least further back than the Aquarian Teacher Manual. . I would guess that one of the Guru's must have made statements somewhat like these about these pauris. I suppose I could contact the publisher or author of the Aquarian Teacher and ask them for their source, and if I can find a way to do that on the internet I might do that if I do not get enough information here. Thank you again for replying. Wahe Guru! Nam Hari Kaur |
